JOY is my make-up
JOY to me means God within.
When people ask me why I smile I say, Jesus- JOY-and -Mary Kay.
It might sound cheesy but it’s the truth. I would not be the women I am today with out Jesus dying on the cross for me and guiding & directing my life.
I choose Joy and try to be positive in all circumstances. My mother showed me this example throughout my life. I don’t remember my mother ever being negative, not smiling, or not finding the good in things and in others. She would always be joyful, positive, see the best in others and made you feel important. When people say I dont know how you are Soo positive and see the best in others, my response is “you haven’t met my mother”. I only hope to be half the mother she was to my children.
Last but not least I love my job. I love encouraging and bringing out the best in women. God knew the perfect career for me and he choose it for me before I was born. I’m glad I listened to his voice and felt the fear anyway and just began. There were many fearful moments in the beginning of my business. Being shy, not having business experience, being young and caring what people thought. But the moment I moved past that and let God work for me everything turned to gold.
When you love what you do you don’t work a day in your life!
I think every day we choose to be Joyful or not.
It is easy to be joyful in the good times, the up times, the happy times, on the Mountain Tops. But JOY really shines in the valleys, when you are having those trying days, those days you just want to crawl back in bed and put the covers over your head.
What is a JOY filled life?
As humans we look for JOY in all the wrong places. We look on the outside (house, clothes, vacation, job, boyfriend, husband, etc.)not inside. The secret to JOY is found on the inside.
Living with JOY doesn’t make your life perfect. It means that you trust God to direct your life, to believe he has great plans for you regardless of what’s going on.
JOY is the outward sign of faith. It is a way of acting, and it’s evident in spiritual growth.
How do you gain more JOY?
* You make a decision to never settle for having anything less than real joy.
* Keep your thoughts fixed on God
* Mental discipline to focus on the good and all that’s going on right.
* Deliberately work on your mental game. Focus on progress and daily improvements.
* Focus on the present. When we focus on the past that can bring happy and sad memories. When we think of the future we could tend to worry. Be in the present!
