Mary Kay Gives Back for the Holidays
As we welcome the holiday season, it’s a great time of the year to give to those who need it the most. As for us at Mary Kay, for the 10th year in a row, we are proud donors of TODAY’s annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive. The toy and gift drive includes everything from adorable stuffed animals to lipsticks, and we have been fortunate enough to have been able to be a part of this wonderful program for the past decade. This year is no different as we at Mary Kay have presented a more than $3 million donation live on NBC’s TODAY show during Today’s Take.
The TODAY Show Toy Drive has aided more than 4 million underprivileged children by distributing about $364 million in donations to more than 180 organizations across the nation and U.S. military bases abroad. This program gives toys, books, clothing, other essentials to impoverished children and teenagers, and also expands to include gifts that children are able to give to their parents, because as we know, the feeling of giving is immeasurable.
As the TODAY show reports, every 29 seconds a child in the U.S. is born into poverty with limited access to food, medical care, and basic human services. The holiday and toy drive gives donations to families in all 50 states through homeless shelters, children’s group homes, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, schools, and after-school programs.
We at Mary Kay prioritize having a strong positive community impact and the holidays is a perfect time to give to children in need.
